Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Broome
Your West Kimberley adventure starts the moment you touch down in Broome. After being welcomed and transferred to the iconic Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa, you'll have time to settle in and soak up the laid-back charm of this colourful coastal town. As the afternoon sun sets, there's no better way to ease into the Kimberley than from the back of a camel. Ride along the golden sweep of Cable Beach, one of Western Australia's most iconic and photographed moments. Round out the evening with dinner at the Sunset Bar & Grill before retiring to your resort accommodation for the night.
Day 2: Broome - Beagle Bay - Dampier Peninsula
After breakfast at Cable Beach Resort, climb aboard our luxury 4WD coach and head north towards the Dampier Peninsula. Along the way, your guide will share the rich history and remarkable geography of the Kimberley, from its striking pindan landscape to the raw resilience of a region shaped by some of Australia's most extreme weather.
Your first stop is the historic Beagle Bay community, where morning tea is paired with a visit to the extraordinary Beagle Bay Church. Built by missionaries over a century ago, this remarkable building is renowned for its intricate altar crafted entirely from mother-of-pearl shell.
From here, the journey continues to Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, one of the world's last great marine wilderness frontiers. Dive into the fascinating world of Australian pearling on a guided Pearl Farm Tour, then take to the water on a Sea Safari that winds through the Kimberley Coast and into the edge of the breathtaking Buccaneer Archipelago.
As the sun sets over the bay, gather for dinner at the Homestead Restaurant, a menu inspired by the region's pearling heritage, featuring Indigenous herbs and spices, Asian-influenced dishes, local seafood and meats, and the rare chance to taste Pinctada maxima pearl meat, a true farm-to-table delicacy. Retire to your luxurious accommodation beneath a sky full of stars.
Day 3: Dampier Peninsula - Horizontal Falls - Mount Hart
An early breakfast kicks off one of the most extraordinary days of the expedition. Depart from Cygnet Bay airstrip on a charter flight to Derby, then swap wheels for wings as you board a seaplane bound for the Kimberley's most famous natural phenomenon, Horizontal Falls.
Soar over the spectacular islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago before touching down on the calm turquoise waters of Talbot Bay. From there, hold on tight as a powerful boat ride takes you surging through the falls themselves, followed by a relaxed island cruise, a shark encounter and a swim on the marine viewing platform.
After flying back to Derby, the journey heads inland along the legendary Gibb River Road to Mount Hart Wilderness Lodge, a remote outback oasis nestled within the Wunaamin Miliwundi Ranges. Settle in with a sundowner at Uncle Tony's Jungle Bar before sitting down to a premium three-course dinner at Pippa's Corner Restaurant, showcasing the finest produce Western Australia has to offer.
End the night with a walk beneath one of the darkest, clearest skies on earth, where the Milky Way stretches endlessly above you.
Day 4: Mount Hart - Bell Gorge - Mount Hart
Fuel up with a hearty breakfast at Pippa's Corner before setting off along the Gibb River Road to Bell Gorge (Dalmanyi), one of the Kimberley's most spectacular natural landmarks. Towering cliff faces and cascading waterfalls set the scene for a guided hike into the gorge, followed by a refreshing swim in the natural top pool. For those after a little extra adventure, scramble down to the lower pool for a more secluded dip.
Lunch is an outback picnic right at the gorge, one of those simple moments that stays with you long after the trip is over. The afternoon brings a leisurely return to Mount Hart, where the rest of the day is yours to enjoy, a swim in the Barker River, sunset drinks at Uncle Tony's Jungle Bar, and another exceptional three-course dinner at Pippa's Corner.
Day 5: Mount Hart - Twin Flame Falls - Mount Hart
After breakfast at Pippa's Corner, prepare for the highlight of the expedition. Take to the skies in a helicopter and fly deep into the Kimberley wilderness before landing at Twin Flame Falls (Walunda), a towering 300-foot, two-tiered waterfall surrounded by ancient red rock cliffs, completely inaccessible by 4WD.
Here, time slows down. Enjoy an outback picnic, embark on a guided hike and swim beneath a hidden waterfall in one of the most remote and spectacular settings in all of Australia. The day also includes visits to some of Mount Hart's most treasured local spots, the tranquil Matthew Gorge (Dawungumen Mindi) and the crystal-clear waters of Barker Pool (Dudungarri Mindi).
Return to the lodge in time for sunset drinks, followed by a relaxed alfresco dinner under the stars.
Day 6: Mount Hart - Tunnel Creek - Windjana Gorge - Broome
Savour your final breakfast at Mount Hart before rejoining the Gibb River Road for one last day of discovery. First stop is Tunnel Creek (Dimalurru), where you'll venture into an ancient 750-metre tunnel system carved through the earth over millennia.
From there, continue to the magnificent Windjana Gorge (Bandilngan), where towering limestone cliffs rise dramatically above a pristine riverbed. Keep your eyes peeled for freshwater crocodiles lounging in the shallows, alongside an abundance of birdlife and Kimberley wildlife. A gourmet picnic lunch, framed by the gorge's stunning backdrop, is the perfect way to mark the final day of the expedition.
On the road back to Broome, stop at the Prison Boab Tree (Kunumudj) which is believed to be over 1,500 years old and a site of deep cultural significance to the Nyikina and Warrwa people.
Arrive back in Broome as the evening settles in, with one final night at Cable Beach Resort awaiting. As you unwind, reflect on six extraordinary days: The gorges, the waterfalls, the wildlife, the people and the places that make the West Kimberley unlike anywhere else on earth.
Itineraries are thoughtfully crafted, though minor adjustments may be made due to weather, road conditions or to further enhance the guest experience.
