Our accreditations, certifications and industry awards help independently measure the standards we set for ourselves. They are more than logos, they are a way to provide our guests with confidene in the way we operate and encourage us to continually improve.
ACCREDITATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
ECO CERTIFICATION
Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm is proudly ECO Certified by Ecotourism Australia, recognising our commitment to delivering responsible tourism experiences.
ECO Certification assess tourism businesses across areas including environmental management, conservation, responsible marketing, visitor education, local communities, customer experience and cultural respect and sensitivity.
For our guests, this means choosing experiences that have been assessed against recognised sustainability standards, from how we care for the environment to how we interprey and share the natural and cultural values of the Kimberley.
Our ECO Certified operations include our experiences and accommodation across Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, including our pearl farm experiences, Sea Safaris, Diver’s Creek stays and Pearler’s Village accommodation options.
MARINE STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL - SUSTAINABLE PEARL OYSTER FISHERY
Our Australian South Sea pearls begin within the silver-lipped pearl oyster, Pinctada maxima, a species intrinsically connected to the health of the Kimberley marine environment.
Australia’s silver-lipped pearl oyster fishery became the world’s first pearl fishery to achieve Marine Stewardship Council certification.
MSC Certification assesses fisheries against internationally recognised principles that cover the health of the stock, impacts on the wider marine ecosystem, and effective fishery management. Independent third-party assessment is part of the certification process.
For us, this recognition reflects something pearl farmers have long understood – that healthy oysters need healthy oceans. Our pearls and the future of Australian pearling all depend on the health of our marine environments.
